| Overview |
As worries over climate change and global oil supplies rise, many see bio-fuel as an alternative to fossil fuel, and a potential source of renewable energy that would significantly curtail greenhouse gas emissions which is blamed for warming our planet . As a result, there is a major drive towards the production of bio-fuel using varied feedstock.
Kimminic Corporation (KMC) is an entrepreneurial effort at bridging the bio-fuel production gap. KMC cultivates and extracts Jatropha oil and bio-diesel from a non-edible perennial plant called Jatropha. Our plantations are currently based in Northern Ghana with a current size of 13,000 hectares increasing to 65,000 hectares over the next four years to a total production capacity of 227,000 tons of Jatropha oil and bio-diesel annually. |
